One of the most fun trends we have seen in Milwaukee over the past few years is that we have beer gardens popping up all over the city. The best part is the city and county parks are getting involved too, many of the Milwaukee’s best beer gardens are in city parks. Here is our guide to the best beer gardens in Milwaukee, Prost!
Milwaukee Beer Gardens
Bavarian Bierhaus
The Bavarian Bierhause brews 10 of their own beers, we suggest ordering a beer flight to try them all. It’s open year round with great indoor and outdoor space. The Bavarian Bierhaus is located just outside of Downtown Milwaukee in Glendale. If beer isn’t your thing the food alone is worth a visit, they have a full menu with one of the best schnitzels in Milwaukee. They also have great specials like: kids eat free on Tuesday, free brewery tours on Fridays, $10 schnitzel fry every Wednesday, Friday fish fry, and free liter of beer every hour for your birthday! Make sure to visit during Oktoberfest in Milwaukee, it is the most authentic in all of Milwaukee.

Croatian Park Beer Garden
The Croatian Park Beer Garden features their own Croatian Park Ale and also serves Karlovacko (Croatian Beer), several Wisconsin Craft Beers, Miller Lite, Coors Lite, mixed drinks, wine, soda, and water. Food is also available for purchase make sure to try some Croatian Ćevapčići & Sausages

Estabrook Beer Garden
One of the city’s best beer gardens is in the shadow of the Oak Leaf Trail in Shorewood. Along with the gentle sound of the river flowing you’ll find an outdoor stand serving up local microbrews along with an indoor restaurant with food and more drinks inside. This is Milwaukee beer garden is a great option rain or shine. Grilled sausages & pretzels are available daily and every Friday they have a fish fry and Saturday & Sunday Schnitzel fry from noon til they sell out.
The claim to fame here is that this beer garden is “The First Public Beer Garden in the U.S.A. since Prohibition”. With Milwaukee’s strong German Heritage it’s not surprising.
2018 season opens with a Maibock Keg tapping on May 3rd at 5:30 pm – Free beer from 5:30-6:30 with a “Friends of Estabrook Park Mug”. Live music from 4:30-8:30 pm.

Hubbard Park Beer Garden
Located right along the Milwaukee River and on the Oka Leaf Trail bike path is the perfect spot to grab a pint in one of Milwaukee’s best beer gardens. There are several beers on tap as well as wine, cocktails, and soda. There is a small food menu with Usinger brats & hot dogs, chicken & apple sausage, pretzels, and a Wisconsin cheese platter. On Fridays head over to the Hubbard Lodge and get a fish fry to go and bring it outside to enjoy at the beer garden.

Milwaukee’s Craft Beer Garden At Humbolt Park
Located in Humbolt Park this beer garden features some of the best Milwaukee craft beers. St. Francis Brewery is the host of the beer garden, so make sure to try one of their beers on tap. Make sure to stop by on Saturdays where they feature tap takeovers by local Wisconsin breweries with limited-release beers. A full menu is available with pizza’s, sandwiches, sausages, beer cheese soup, pretzels, and more. There is indoor seating just in case of rain. CASH ONLY

Lake Country Beer Garden At Nikon Park
This beer garden started in 2017 and is opening again for the summer of 2018. Stop by for live music every Thursday night. A small menu with brats, pretzels, and popcorn is available.

The Landing at Hoyt Park
The Landing at Hoyt Park has some amazing beers on tap like Hacker Pschorr, Lakefront Brewery, New Belgium, New Glarus, Spaten Optimator, City Lights, and Third Space. Food is available for purchase or feel free to bring your own food in just remember no outside alcohol is permitted in the beer garden. Live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

South Shore Terrace Kitchen + Beer Garden
This Milwaukee Beer Garden has one of the best views of the Milwaukee Skyline and Lake Michigan. The outdoor space alone is worth the visit. We love the unique menu with carrot fries, blueberry ketchup, crab cake sliders, and it wouldn’t be Wisconsin without deep fried cheese curds. Live music every Wednesday night with indoor and outdoor seating.

Traveling Beer Garden
The Traveling Beer Gardens is featured at two different Milwaukee County Parks at the same time. There are two “tours” the Roll Out the Barrel Tour stays at each park for three weeks and the Pass Me a Pint Tour stays for two weeks. Each of these Milwaukee beer gardens features Sprecher products which not only has great beer but the best Root Beer in the world. Live music at the keg tappings on Wednesday nights and Fridays & Saturday nights from 5-8pm.

Von Rothenburg Bier Stube
Von Rothenburg Bier Stube shares a beer garden with Old Town Beer Hall which is right next door. There are over 24 beers on tap between both venues. The Old Town Beer Hall has a huge German menu and the beer garden features a smaller summer menu. The beer garden features live music every Friday & Saturday Sixteen beers rotate on the tap in the beer garden, but others are available in Von Rothenburg or Old Town.

Whitnall Park Beer Garden
Another great Milwaukee beer garden featuring some of the best Wisconsin microbreweries. They have a rotating tap so odds are if you visit throughout the summer they’ll be a new brew on tap to try. Make sure to stop by for one of the famous beer garden pig roasts which are once a month scheduled for May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, and September 16th. Live music 5 pm every Friday & Saturday
